Healthcare and Advocacy United for Social Change

A Healthier Democracy is a 501(c)3 platform committed to creating positive social change by focusing on the intersection of health and civic engagement. We believe a better world for our patients is possible by harnessing the collective power of healthcare workers through community organizing and strategic initiatives.

Overview

In the AHD Ambassadors and Fellows Program, you’ll gain more than just knowledge—you’ll acquire actionable skills. These experiences include exposure to and training in community organizing techniques, healthcare advocacy, and project management. You’ll help lead multifaceted initiatives targeting critical issues like digital equity, voting rights, and opioid addiction. What sets our program apart is collaboration. Selected participants work directly with seasoned healthcare professionals and peer pre-health and graduate medical students. You’ll engage in real-world projects, gain experience, and leverage collective expertise to drive change. This hands-on experience not only enriches your educational journey but also empowers you to make a tangible social impact.
