Dr. Alister Martin Sworn into the HHS Advisory Panel on Outreach and Education

[Washington, D.C.] – A Healthier Democracy proudly announces that Dr. Alister Martin, an esteemed ER physician and CEO of A Healthier Democracy, was recently sworn into the HHS Advisory Panel on Outreach and Education.

In his new role on the panel, Dr. Martin will lend his expertise to advise the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Administrator of CMS. His focus will be on strategies to enhance the federal government’s outreach to underserved and vulnerable patient communities.

Dr. Martin’s vast experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and as Research Faculty in behavioral economics at Harvard Kennedy School, a former Chief Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, and as an appointed White House Fellow under the Biden Administration in the Office of Public Engagement and in the Office of the Vice President under Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I’m beyond thrilled to leverage the lessons learned we are shaping right here at A Healthier Democracy to provide concrete examples about how we can best leverage the federal government’s scale to do the most good for the most number of patients,” said Dr. Martin.

His teams at A Healthier Democracy across Vot-ER, Get Waivered, and GOTVax have directly served over 250,000 low income patients across all 50 states and D.C. and prove that health care workers and health care settings have untapped power to drive positive social change.

Most recently, Dr. Martin launched Link Health, a digital equity program that leverages the health sector to connect patients to the Affordable Connectivity Program. To date, these efforts have resulted in the distribution of over $192,000 in yearly payments to low-income patients to pay their Internet bills so they can use telehealth interventions to receive care.
